This article is about the character from Peach-Pit's manga continuity. For other uses see Hinaichigo (disambiguation).

Hinaichigo (雛苺 Hinaichigo, Kleine Beere / Small Berry / Small Strawberry) is the sixth Rozen Maiden doll and the second youngest sister of the Rozen Maiden series.

Appearance[]

Hinaichigo's appearance is that of a little girl, and that is because she is the second youngest of the sisters. She wears a pink overcoat with a red ribbon and has a similar one on the backside of her coat. She wears a white, puffy underdress. She has short ringleted, blonde hair with a pink bow, surrounded by white ruffles and on her feet she has red ballet-like slippers, with red ribbons that criss-cross over her legs and white tights. Her eyes are light green.

Personality[]

Hinaichigo is a caring doll inside, but she can be ridiculously naive, childish and dislikes being alone.[2] She seems to be tricked easily, as her older sister, Suiseiseki, had told her lies of many things, such as saying a mere Japanese mailbox is a monster, and that Lacrosse was a battle of death. Hinaichigo also has the best intentions for those that she cares about, which she demonstrates when she cuts ties with her master when it was revealed by Shinku that Tomoe would die from Hinaichigo using too much of her energy.[3]

Hinaichigo's favorite foods are strawberry daifuku, and Nori's "Hanamaru Hamburger," which is a hamburger patty topped with a fried egg in the shape of a flower. She adores the puppet detective Kun Kun, though her fandom is not as avid as Shinku's. She also loves to draw, as shown often in both seasons of the anime and the OVA, however rarely on paper (walls, model cars, floors, etc.). She usually ends her sentences in "na no" (なの〜, "That's why" or "Because" in Japanese), complimentary to Kanaria's "kashira" (meaning "I wonder" or "maybe?") and occasionally speaks in French. She also says "uunyuu" out of curiosity.

During most of the manga and Rozen Maiden Zurückspulen, Hinaichigo's body is consumed by Kirakishou and gives her Rosa Mystica to Shinku[4] however, Shinku manages to bring her back to life with with her wish as Alice.[5]

Relationships[]

Shinku[]

Shinku was the first Rozen Maiden to welcome Hinaichigo into their sisterhood, and tried to to teach her how to behave like a proper lady, with limited success.[6] Hinaichigo often clings to Shinku when frightened, and their bond sometimes appears to be closer to that of mother and child, rather than sisters.  As further proof of their close bond, Shinku is the Rozen Maiden who first obtains Hinaichigo's Rosa Mystica, yet not immediately after combat, due to Shinku's own preference to keep her sisters intact.  In her last moments after her body is taken by Kirakishou, Hinaichigo reaches out only to Shinku, knowing she would respond, and entrusts Shinku with her Rosa Mystica. This is primarily because Hinaichigo wants Shinku to use their combined power to protect their loved ones.[7] She states it is because she loves Shinku.[8]

Corinne Fosset[]

Corinne was Hinaichigo's master long before Tomoe. She received Hinaichigo in the wooden case on her 11th birthday. The two did everything and went everywhere together. They became inseparable until a catastrophic event happened in her life. She left Hinaichigo in her case unwillingly in her former house. When she returned several years later, the house was crushed, and seemingly along with it, Hinaichigo. Her dying wish was for her granddaughter, Odille Fosset, to find Hinaichigo and take her back to France.

Odille Fosset[]

Odille is Corinne's granddaughter, and was requested by her to find Hinaichigo and bring her back to France. She came to the Sakurada residence, revealing a ring, and claiming to be Hinaichigo's mistress. She said she received the ring from a white-clothed doll in a dream, and had believed the ring to be Corinne's contract ring from Hinaichigo. However, later it was revealed that the ring was actually a contract ring from Kirakishou.

Quotes[]

Weapons and Skills[]

Hinaichigo's name means 'Little Strawberry', and she keeps to her title by her very weak powers: manipulation of strawberry vines, which she uses to tie up her opponents.[9] (Suigintou and Shinku were shown to easily break these.)
